Empty Vessels

Have you ever been so depressed you can’t feel a thing? I mean you really can’t feel a thing? You can’t cry, you can’t laugh, you can barely think, you literally cannot feel?

My mum asked me today why people are “cutters” a common trend nowadays among the mentally ill. I explained what it’s like to not feel anything, and that these subjects are merely turning a physical feeling into an emotional one. It’s a substitute for emotion.

It hurts me to know there are so many people in this country suffering from mental illness and not enough programs or facilities to account for this demographic.

I just wish there was more hope in the world sometimes, sometimes it can seem so gray.
