My Childhood Washed Away

Some kids had lots of friends, I had lots of teddies.

When other children were playing together, I was in the backyard with a bunch of teddies, a cat or two, and usually a couple frogs.

I used to set them around me and tuck them all in ’cause I figured if 1 could ward off nightmares then 200 could do it better!

When we went to my grandparents for a week vacation I HAD to bring ALL of them with me! 2 large black garbage bags full and they all had to come, I promised to never leave them behind.

They made it through the teddy masacre of 1991 from moving, they made it back from england in 1996, but they didnt make it through the flood in 2013.

I was gonna give those to my kids. Popples are already collectors items and furskins had a signed foot. My Jackie doll was the only doll I ever played with… I loved her. Lambchop was given to me in the hospital when I was born, and brown teddy was given to me by my favorite aunt Jackie. My big pink bunny… I got you for easter, I remember thinking you were the biggest bunny ever, and so soft, mum had you waiting for me at the house ’cause chris ate my easter trail! (my mum would make a trail of candy from our rooms to our baskets, in ’89 my older brother ate my trail and when i woke up told me “your baskets behind the tv” I cried my eyes out and screamed “YOU RUINED EASTER!”, so naturally mum got me the bunny….)

Today is the day I say goodbye to my childhood, my best childhood friends.

RIP Popples, Furskins, Jackie doll, brown teddy, lambchop, pink easter bunny (circa 1989), You guys were my best friends… xoxo

Hi just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know
a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same results.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in
it or something. I think that you can do with some
pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is
great blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.
