I was recently cast for a bridal accessories photo shoot.
I was so excited, bridal modelling takes “dress up” to a whole new level.
When I arrived I assisted the MUA in carrying her AMAZING creations upstairs. Not only is she an MUA, but she designs couture bouquets. They were breath taking! The accoutrements on the stems and scattered throughout the bouquet were so tastefully placed they could’ve been fresh from a Paris bridal show.
We went into the loft apartment and were surprised to hear of its history. It’s prior owner was Marilyn Dennis’s son, and the current renovation was done by her on TV. There’s a beautiful brick wall on one side, open white windows on the other, and lastly this splash of amazing black and white woodland wallpaper.
I perched myself on a chair and let Erika work her magic. Hair and makeup took about an hour, and then we got to shooting.
You might not realize it but accessory modelling is actually quite hard. Especially when you’re trying to showcase a bouquet, and a hairpiece, and a dress.
The dresses were provided by a local boutique ( https://www.facebook.com/wishahmon) and of course we stunning. Layers and layers of fabric I lost all envy for the princess brides, in fact envy was replaced by an understanding that women who where large princess dresses in summer have a tendency for self punishment and lunacy. However, fashion has never been comfortable 🙂
Not even half way through the shoot my legs were sweating like waterfalls, but I pushed through. We switched out head piece for headpiece. Bouquet for bouquet. And eventually switched dresses. (Thank god) the second was a heavier fabric yet seemed more tempered to hot weather and was much easier for my skin to breathe in.
The shoot took just over two hours, and it was a blast! I look forward to more bridal modelling!
